Kappa Iota Lambda Chapter

The Brothers of Kappa Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. are hosting a fundraiser. Since 1973 the chapter has been a driving force in supporting the people and organization in the Burlington County and surrounding area. KIL lives by the Fraternity’s motto “Love for all mankind” through its yearly scholarships, contributions to food shelters, sponsoring voting registration drives, back to school bag giveaways and uplifting those in need.

The chapter is raising funds to offset the cost for the installation and dedication of a park bench in Millcreek Park in Willingboro. The chapter will be joining other Divine Nine Fraternities and Sororities in uplifting the legacy and history of these Black Men and Women who have made the service to their community their number one priority.
The chapter’s goal is to raise $8,000 towards this effort. The money raised will allow the Chapter to continue sponsoring its various other community-oriented projects without impacting funds set aside for this work.
There are two levels of giving:

• The “Black” level is for contributions between $100 to $200. Donors will receive a customized Black brick as a memento of their contribution.

• The “Gold” level is for donations $201 and above. Donors will receive a customized Gold brick.

This fundraiser will run from May 1st to September 1st of 2024. Donors will receive an invitation to attend the dedication program to be held in October. The memento bricks will be given out at the dedication.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is the first African American
collegiate fraternity founded on December 4, 1906,
at Cornell University, Ithaca New York.
Founded by 7 college men who recognized the need
for a strong bond of brotherhood among African descendants
in this country.

In 1973, alumni Alpha men in South Jersey had the choice of membership in one of the Philadelphia Chapters (Rho Chapter, Zeta Omicron Lambda) or Zeta Iota Lambda Chapter in Trenton, New Jersey. A need clearly existed for a chapter to be established in the Burlington County, Southern, New Jersey region.
