Dear Friends;
Smithtown has a unique heritage – one that’s worth upholding and sustaining. An
important part of that heritage is Smithtown Historical Society; it is our
mission to not only interpret our history, but also to preserve it. Through
fundraisers, memberships, and donations, the Smithtown Historical Society has
been able to provide quality educational programs for the entire township. Like
most not-for-profits today, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to raise
the needed funds for house and grounds maintenance and repairs, and general
monthly operating expenses. The Society must act now in order to maintain these
programs and be able to provide opportunities for families to enjoy our programs
this year and beyond. We need your support.
The Smithtown Historical Society is launching a fundraising campaign to build a
Pathway to History, “one brick at a time”. We are offering you an opportunity to
become a part of Smithtown's history by purchasing a brick, permanently engraved
with an inscription of your choice, to be laid on the grounds of the society.
These bricks will last for many, many years to come serving as constant
reminders of those who have become a part of Smithtown’s heritage.
The Smithtown Historical Society belongs to all residents of Smithtown. Our
members are merely charged with its preservation. Your support would be greatly
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Victoria Del Vento
Executive Director
