BRICK BY BRICK....you can help kids play at the Tom "Red" Martin Play Together Park at PRHC!

For over two decades Thomas “Red” Martin served on the Board of Trustees at the Massachusetts Hospital School/Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children with wit, wisdom, and an uncompromising commitment to the physically disabled children residing there. In June of 2018 a forlorn and forgotten patch of land was transformed into Phase One of the Tom “Red” Martin Play Together Park : a fully accessible playground built to honor Red’s “can do” spirit and his desire to provide Pappas kids with the best life possible.

We are raising monies for Phase Two of the Red Martin Play Together Park. This expansion will add 3 additional structures to the park, raising the final total to 9 unique pieces. Upon completion, The Tom "Red" Martin Play Together Park, will become a National Demonstration Site of Inclusive Play. A place that will never want for laughter or ever hunger to be filled by kids, swinging, sliding and spinning in search of the able body that lives within each and every one of them. There can be no more fitting tribute to a man who donated his valuable time and enormous talents in the unshakeable belief that “…with generous support patients of this hospital can enjoy normal childhood experiences that inevitably enhance the quality of the their lives..”

Your brick will be included in the walkway surrounding the playground. Engraved on your brick could be your family name, your business or your organization. If you prefer, you may choose to honor someone, or commemorate a loved one's memory. 100% of the proceeds benefit our playground project.

Play Together Park engraved bricks are available in a 4” x 8” or 8" x 8" size. On the 4" x 8" you have the option of writing up to 3 lines, 18 characters per line. With the 8" x 8" you have the option of writing up to 6 lines, 18 characters per line. The engraving will be in all capital letters. The 4"x8" brick cost is $100, the 8"x8" cost is $250.
