“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way
in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a
human being." - Oscar Wilde.
Lake City Playhouse has been an active theater in North Idaho and the
surrounding area for 60 years. In the spring of 2021 we had a massive flood,
leaving the beloved theater in disrepair. Now we are looking to build Lake City
Playhouse back up brick by brick.
Lake City Playhouse has been a home for any and all who seek a theatre
experience: from child to adult, on stage for years or maybe for the first time;
from teaching new skills at the light and sound board to those who just love to
watch a good show. Lake City Playhouse prides itself on being a home for all who
seek a place to be creative and self-expressive.
We do not want to lose one of Idaho's oldest theaters, to watch it become
nothing more a memory. Maybe you, yourself, have been touched by this little
theater and all it has offered over the years. Maybe you have a family member
that has been on our stage and you want to celebrate them. Or maybe you just
understand how important having a healthy theater community is and would like to
contribute in a small way. Here is your chance. Lake City Playhouse will feature
your brick on our new patio and outside gathering space at the front of Lake
City Playhouse. We are so excited to build the future of this beautiful theater,
brick by brick, with your help.
The Brick Patio is estimated to be installed in the Spring of 2024.
Thank you for your support, and for putting the “community” in community
theater.
