The book of Nehemiah records a time in history of the nation of Israel, which included the rebuilding of the City of Jerusalem, as well as reaffirming the spiritual lives of the people of Israel who had returned from captivity. In our current day it appears the “Church” is now going through similar trials. The past four years with the Covid crisis, lockdowns and mandates have had a devastating impact on Church attendance/participation in general. This Little Church with a BIG Heart, which has served the community of Hopewell, NJ for over 127 years, is initiating an effort in the spirit of Nehemiah to rebuild “Brick by Brick”, repairing the foundation on which the church and community is built. We are calling all to prayerfully join us in continuing the legacy of Second Calvary Baptist Church being the salt and light to the community of Hopewell and beyond. This effort is intended to raise funds for operational and general building maintenance projects, roof repair and air conditioning unit. It will also be used to increase our audio/visual programing which reaches members all over the country and Canada. Your support of this effort, with either the donation of $100 or $200 will be immortalized with an engraved brick, which will be mounted on the walls of the church foyer.
