We are writing to
extend an invitation to you to include the names of your loved ones in our
Remembrance Garden. By selling individual memorial bricks to be laid along the
existing wall of the garden by the pathway, we are hoping to raise money for the
church restoration fund. This money will be used towards fixing the church tower
and, hopefully, creating a lasting source of funds for future projects at our
church.
As we have written
before, our church is an historic treasure that remains open to all as a place
to celebrate marriages, births and special occasions, to mourn the passing of
loved ones and to gather as a community. This is true whether you are a member
of St Mark's church or not. It is hard to imagine our lovely historic city
without St Mark's on West St. Any contribution you can make is a gift for
generations to come.
Memorial bricks can be
purchased for $125 each for the 4” by 8” bricks. Please use the enclosed order
form to send us the name of the person you wish to memorialize along with the
years of his or her birth and death if you would like to include these. We have
limited capacity of space for only 500 such bricks. It is expected that these
will go fast and our first round of orders for bricks will be placed in August.
