Greetings,
“How precious is your
unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow
of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own
house, letting them drink from your rivers of delight. For you
are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.” (Psalms
36: 7-9)
We thank you for your
prayers of support for; the Brick by Brick campaign, the
building addition work, and for God’s will for our church. This
letter is to update you on the progress, and to ask for your
continued, and maybe even additional support for the building
addition.
The report this last week
is that the addition is 76% complete, and they are on schedule
to finish by
sometime in November. Praise the Lord! You can see from the
street that the design and work has been done in a fashion that
makes the addition look like it was always part of the church.
We are so blessed! Of course the other side of having this much
of the addition completed is that we have already paid out
almost 76% of the total contract. Our contributions to date
have not been enough to pay the bills, so we have already
borrowed about $200,000 to pay the ongoing bills of
construction.
Do you remember the Brick
by Brick campaign? For a minimum gift you can dedicate a brick
which will be placed on the wall as a testament to God’s work in
your life or for someone else you would like to commemorate. We
have included with this mailing an order form for these bricks.
If you want to order a brick for you or your family, please fill
out the form. If you have already pledged or given the money in
an amount large enough for a brick, and you would like a brick,
please take time to fill out the order form. Once you have
filled out the form send it to the church in care of Sheila
Wooldridge, or drop it in the offering on Sunday. Bricks will
not be ordered until the pledge amount (minimum for that brick)
has been given.
The bricks will be
displayed in the order they are paid for, with the first group
being displayed by the elevator door across from the new
entrance, the second group will be displayed by the elevator
door in the upstairs and the final group will be displayed by
the elevator door in the basement.
We sincerely believe this
project is God’s challenge to our congregation at this time.
Heeding Paul’s advice, use the enclosed information to “make up
your mind” and with joy let us meet the needs of our calling.
Thank you again for your continued prayers for the church,
community, and for God’s guidance in all we do.
Sincerely,
Pastor Gary for the Building
