Welcome to the Friends of
Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) donor site!!
“Protecting our salmon and ensuring their survival for
future generations through education, advocacy and
outreach” —
FISH Mission
FISH is a
non-profit organization that supports education
programs, research, and operations at the Issaquah
Salmon Hatchery. Dollars raised on this site help
FISH’s efforts in support of Chinook, Coho and
Kokanee salmon.
Every fall the salmon return to
Issaquah, and so, too, do thousands of young students
and visitors. They come in person to see these magnificent fish
return from their grueling journey at sea, to fight
against the current and spawn in their natal waters of
the Issaquah Creek.
The Issaquah hatchery is the
most visited of the Washington Department of Fish and
Wildlife’s hatcheries, with thousands of visitors every
year. As the region grapples with change to the natural
environment, FISH highlights the presence of salmon in
Issaquah Creek in order to cultivate a sense of wonder
about these remarkable fish. Through outreach
events, science fairs, school presentations, onsite
tours, and exhibits, visitors learn not only about the
salmon but also the habitat, watershed and environment
crucial to their survival.
