Dear Bates families:

Wonderful news! After a great deal of work by some ambitious fifth graders and support from their parents, the Town of Wellesley has approved an extension of the playground behind Bates School.  The new area will extend from the hard top into the woods (known as “Stump World”) gaining over 2000+ square feet
 of wooded play space. The area will be fully enclosed to ensure the children’s safety and a brick entryway will be created to connect the two play spaces. The cost of the required fencing and cleanup is approximately $5,000. 

To help fund Stump World, we are thrilled to announce the sale of engraved bricks to commemorate the students and families of Bates. The bricks will be permanently set into the ground at the entry of Stump World for all to see. This is a great way for students to be remembered long after they’ve graduated. For those just starting at Bates, think of the many years to come that you can spend looking at your engraved brick. 

Here are the brick options available for purchase:

�         4 x 8 inch bricks - $100.00. Each brick can include up to three lines of text, 18 characters per line.

*Some examples of brick inscriptions are: a child's name and the year, a family's last name, an inspirational message for the children of the park, the names of siblings and the year.
