Have you ever
experienced the unconditional love and devotion of a pet? Then
you must also know the devastating heartbreak of that final
goodbye. It can be a difficult time.
Our Sheriff’s
Department has seen a need to have a quiet place outside, away
from the bustle
of the shelter, for pet owners to have time to say goodbye, and
to be able to spend their last remaining minutes with their pet.
After the pet is gone, the garden would serve as a place to
collect themselves before getting in their car and going on the
road, upset.
Because we
must use County and Animal Rescue Group money on the animals
currently in our care – and we wouldn’t have it any other way –
the garden must be privately funded. We expect that many
businesses will make plant and supply donations. Work will be
done by our terrific Shelter Volunteers, along with the help of
the Brunswick Master Gardener Volunteers, as well as County
Inmate work.
But we need
your help!
To fund our project, we are installing a brick pathway leading
to a fountain. The bricks can be engraved with memorials to past
pets, honorariums to present pets or favorite people, or a
business name.
The bricks
will sell for $75.00. That includes all shipping to the Shelter,
installation, and you will receive a certificate with a picture
of your brick for your home. For an additional $25.00, you will
receive a display brick, felt lined, on an easel, for your home
or office. All net profits will be used for the garden, and for
other needs the shelter has – such as new flooring for the dog
area. Remember, your donation is tax deductible!
Please fill
out the attached form and mail it along with your check or money
order to the address shown. You may order two bricks per order
form.
Thanks for
your support!
