Woowee; the
Carlisle County Museum and Library is all grown up!
From our meager beginnings in 2008,
occupying the old Stockton and Tackett Storefront on Front
Street in Bardwell to a building on US Hwy 51 that the
membership of the Bardwell Methodist Church
graciously donated to the museum and library. We have
arrived in 2014!
This is a building that all residents and
visitors to our community can be proud to enter.
The board is working hard to stock the bookshelves and
the museum items and artifacts so that everyone will find
something to like.
It won't be long till we fling open our doors and all can enter
and enjoy.
Some of the wonderful things taking place
are

Look for our new
sign out front, it's a beaut

We have
new bookshelves so it
will be easier to find that book you so wanted to read

We will have 4 to 6
computers available for adults and children to use for homework or
other research projects

We have some ideas for use of the
upstairs - you'll be surprised and pleased

Each community in
Carlisle County will be represented with its own display
These are just some of the things now
taking place for your pleasure and entertainment, but there are
always those things that take place behind the scenes and you
may not notice them.
We will soon need a new roof on the building, we also have some
leakage in a strong rain, outside needs painting, a ramp for
easier handicap entry, and other issues of this kind.
This is where you can help!
We are asking for your donation. As a showing of our
appreciation we will furnish you with an engraved brick with
your name and anything else you wish to say.
These bricks will be placed in a prominent place on
museum grounds (a wall - a walkway, etc) and your donation will
be known to all who visit the museum and library.
In the following pages the way to get your own individual
brick will be explained.
Thank you for your help and for visiting
with us.
Your donation will be appreciated!
