Welcome to our SRB Community Spirit Garden fundraising site,

Have you ever driven around our neighborhood and looked at a run-down, un-kept property and thought to yourself, “Why doesn’t someone do something about that?”

That is exactly what we are doing!

The SRB Community Spirit Garden is located on at 4935 W. Central, the corner that is bordered by Central and Edmunds at Higgins. The city has approved funds to remediate the land, the removal of debris and blacktop and construction of a new fence.  The team has participated in the “Earth Week” activities and started the clean-up and planting of the parkway.

This is just the beginning!  The organization is raising funds and accepting donations to continue the project.  We have made a five year commitment to the maintenance of the property. The SRB Community Spirit Garden Committee will be holding fund raisers to finance the creation of the garden and its sustainability.  These costs are necessary to build the sustainable garden.  Funds will be used for the construction of raised beds, the planting of trees, the creation of walkways and sitting areas, and of course the seeds and plants. Your brick will be strategically laid in the center of the garden. Our entire neighborhood will be a witness to your commitment to our community!

“The Community Spirit Garden’s Mission is to transform and beautify a long-neglected vacant lot for the purpose of creating a productive green space in which vegetables and flowers grow to supplement a need in the community, providing a social space, and involving and educating the local youth. “
