It has been almost 155 years since our
church was founded. First Baptist Church stands as a beacon on
the corner of Main and Upham Streets and is an integral part of
our city’s landscape. More importantly, her ministries have
reached the lives of thousands within the community.
As you know our church building is in
serious need of repair and restoration and we are trying to
raise $200,000 to make this possible. While this seems to be a
daunting amount, we are reminded of the five small stones (1
Samuel 17:40), the five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:18) and
the widow and the two coins (Mark 12:41-44).
The Lord works miracles with the faithful and we have
seen that many times in our church.
Brick
Campaign
As part of our restoration fund drive, we
are offering commemorative bricks to replace the walkway in
front of the church, which is also in need of repair.
We are making available for purchase
engraved 4x8 bricks. These bricks can be in celebration of
special occasions, weddings, anniversaries, births, in honor of
family or friends or to memorialize a loved one.
Bricks are $100 each and have space for 3
lines of engraved text, eighteen characters per line, for your
customized message. Every
brick and its wording has a lifetime guarantee to ensure its
preservation for generations to come.
You may also purchase a Donor Brick for
$25. Donor Bricks are a 4”x8”x” thick exact duplicate of the
brick that you purchase. The brick will have a felt backing and
will include a stand, so you can proudly display it in your home
or office.
We are also offering a limited number of
benches that we will use to line our walkways. These benches are
offered at $1,000 each, with 5 lines of text, 35 characters per
line.
Or if you wish, you may simply make a
donation of any size without a purchase.
Through the
generosity, hard work and faith of the people, we know that our
church has a bright future and will continue “Bringing People to
Jesus Christ” on the corner of Main and Upham Streets for
generations to come!
Thank you for your prayers and contributions.
