Marietta High School
Preserve the Pride Courtyard Campaign
Marietta
High School is proud to announce our “Preserve the Pride
Courtyard Fundraiser.” Established in 1892, Marietta High School
has existed in six locations in the City of Marietta during a
period of over 100 years: Kennesaw Avenue, Waterman Street,
Lemon Street, Winn Street, Haynes Street, and Whitlock Avenue.
Today, our
hallways are named after these streets and the goal of this
campaign is to create an outdoor area that will capture the
beauty of our school and serve as a source of pride to our past,
present, and future graduates.
When
completed the courtyard will not only be a place for students to
socialize during school hours, it will also serve as a teaching
environment with two areas set aside as outdoor classrooms. Even
more than an outdoor space for fun and learning, the courtyard
will have the look and feel of a quaint city park complete with
trees, shrubs, a fountain, a gazebo, and an outdoor grill and
tented eating area. It will be a gathering place for alumni and
families wishing to grill-out for a class reunion, a tailgate
party, or other school functions.
We are
asking all the friends and alumni of Marietta High School to
show their support by purchasing bricks for the courtyard. This
is your chance to become a visible part of school history by
memorializing the name of a past, present, or future MHS
graduate. The cost is just $50 for a 4” X 8” engraved brick
with black painted lettering. Each brick will have up to 3
lines with 18 characters per line as follows:
Line 1:
First Name
Line 2:
Last Name
Line 3:
Class of XXXX
See below
for ordering details. So won’t you please donate the funding
for one or more bricks for yourself or other MHS graduates and
create your own special spot in our courtyard for generations to
come. Thank you!
