Neighbors, Friends and
Family,Mt Tabor United Methodist Church is embarking on
a new fundraiser to replace the roof of the church…A
memorial sidewalk project with personalized brick
As you
know, the original Mt. Tabor dates back to the 1800’s
and began as a Methodist Episcopal Church and later
became United Methodist. The first church was
organized in 1858 by slaves as a “Meeting House”
of worship. The deed was recorded on June 24,
1858, State of Maryland and is listed as one of the
oldest church properties in Anne Arundel County. Our
church has been registered as a Historical Site in the
state of Maryland.
The
first Mt. Tabor sanctuary was destroyed by fire and
rebuilt in 1893 on the current site and it is time to
replace the roof. All funds raised from your purchase of
a brick will help to support this effort. Please
help us keep our historic church safe and vibrant by
participating in our brick project
Yours truly,
The Members of the Building and Improvement Committee
