At the New Leaf Foundation (NLF), our mission is to help low-income families in inner-city Charlotte turn over a new leaf by providing them with immediate relief within a system of accountability. We want to fight poverty at its core, which means that we must empower these families to overcome the obstacles that perpetuate poverty in their lives.

One of the key issues we have found that perpetuates poverty in low-income Charlotte communities is food insecurity and hunger. Food insecurity is the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.  One low-income community in particular with which we have been working and that suffers from food insecurity is the Freedom Drive community. There, fast food restaurants dominate, and a lack of affordable, quality ingredients means that these families cannot afford to prepare healthy meals.

Please join us in an effort to build a greenhouse and community garden for this low-income, inner-city Charlotte community this summer. This will help us provide these low-income families with year-round access to free, fresh produce and wellness education to transform their eating habits. Your sponsorship at any level will help us to reach this goal.

�       Name or logo permanently posted on our “Founders Tree,” a piece of custom artwork designed by a local artist that honors all Founders Tree sponsors that donate between now and July 15, 2015. This artwork will be prominently displayed in our greenhouse for all visitors of any of our events or day-to-day gardening activities to see throughout the year. Once your name is on the tree, it will be there forever!

�       8x8” Brick with your name engraved on it (6 lines, 18 characters/line)– placed in the “Sponsorship Path” that leads through the garden to the greenhouse. This brick will be seen by anyone who visits our site throughout the year.
