Everyone is well aware of the severe budget cuts taking place in education across the country and especially in our state. As a result of the lack of funding received by our school district, the majority of funding has been cut from the sports programs at Point Arena HS. We are asking for your help and support. We are selling tiles for $125 that will be placed on the wall in the lobby of the gym. This is a great way to show your support, remember a loved one, or add some words of encouragement.

Studies have shown that playing sports in high school promotes leadership, responsibility and overall concern for others. Students learn values and lessons that cannot be learned anywhere else. Over 60% of the students at Point Arena High School participate in a sport. These students work harder and achieve better in the classroom during their sports season. But now we need your help. We realize that times are difficult for everyone; please do what you can. Every gesture will help to preserve our season. The basketball teams at Point Arena have brought much pride and excitement to the area over the years, and we are asking if you will please help us to continue this proud tradition. Everyone will see your tile and know that you have helped the student athletes of Point Arena.
