Our Sincere Thanks…
After
the passing of Officer Robert Winget while actively on patrol
duty on April 10, 2007, the Ripon Police Department and Ripon
Police Officer’s Association began working together on a plan to
erect a Police Officer Memorial dedicated to the two Ripon
Police Officers, Sergeant Paul Stevens and Officer Robert
Winget, who lost their lives while serving this community.
The memorial was designed large
enough for additional names to be added, if the unfortunate need
arises.
The memorial is designed to be
placed in front of the department’s building, just South of the
main entrance.
Over the past four years the Ripon
Police Department and Ripon Police Officer’s Association (RPOA)
have solicited donations from the community, but the
contributions have fell
short of the needed money to build the memorial.
Our hope is to continue to
raise the funds needed to complete this tribute
to the brave men and women who have nobly dedicated themselves
to keeping our homes and neighborhoods safe and sound.
The Ripon Police Officers Association
is requesting donations to erect this memorial in honor of the
fallen Ripon Police Officers.
Donations made will purchase a
4x8 brick with custom engraving of your choice.
The bricks will serve as a
walkway leading up to the memorial site located in front of the
Ripon Police Department.
The Police Officers Association
has limited the sales to 300 bricks.
