Class 12 of New Vision Newport,
working with Newport’s Downtown Revitalization and
Improvement Volunteer Effort (D.R.I.V.E.), is developing
a Veterans Memorial in the new park in downtown Newport.
Within the Veterans Memorial area, D.R.I.V.E. will be
constructing a Walk of Honor which will allow people to
honor the veterans in their lives by purchasing an
engraved brick memorializing the service of the men and
women who have kept our country protected. Bricks may be
purchased for veterans who are from Jackson County, who
have lived in Jackson County or who have immediate
family living in Jackson County.
Bricks are $100 each
for three lines of engraving. An additional fourth line
can be added for an additional $10 fee. Bricks in the
Walk of Honor may be purchased for anyone who has served
or is serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines,
Coast Guard, Merchant Marines or National Guard.
Please put the
Veteran’s name on the first line, branch of service on
the second line and years of service or conflict during
service (i.e. World War II) on the third line.
D.R.I.V.E. reserves the right to slightly alter
your entry so that there is a uniformity to the bricks.
