Building and Sustaining
Community -- Unique, Vibrant, Diverse
On this 29th
Year Anniversary, we celebrate rededication of Villa Maria
Apartments and the world premier of our documentary film,
Building Lives; the Story of the Miami Beach Community
Development Corporation.
We invite you to
become a part of this work by your tax deductible contribution
to the organization.
Miami Beach CDC fosters community development
through historic preservation and physical improvements,
economic revitalization and job creation, and by increasing
housing opportunities -- training workshops and counseling,
first time homebuyer programs and development and management of
affordable / workforce rental housing.
Founded in 1981 by the
Miami Design Preservation League, Miami Beach CDC spearheaded
the economic revitalization of the Art Deco District, public and
private investment on Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road and
re-emergence of South Beach as a world-class tourist
destination.
The organization now works
throughout Miami Beach
and the region in a comprehensive housing and community
development program to improve the quality of life for those who
live and work and visit the city.
Your contribution
makes possible the preservation of affordable housing and the
rehabilitation of historic buildings such as Villa Maria
Apartments, one of the oldest surviving buildings in the John
Collins Waterfront Historic District of the City of Miami Beach.
